Biostimulants for Wheat: Boosting Yield and Drought Resistance<\/b><\/h3>\n

The agricultural sector faces increasing challenges, particularly in dry-land regions. Researchers are continuously seeking sustainable solutions to enhance crop productivity and resilience to environmental stresses like drought. A recent study conducted at the Faculty of Agriculture, Cairo University, investigated the synergistic effects of seaweed extract and free amino acids on the growth and yield of durum wheat (Sakha 93<\/code>), as well as its ability to withstand water stress.<\/p>\n

This research highlights the significant potential of biofertilizers to improve crop performance by enhancing nutrient absorption, boosting physiological indicators, and providing a natural defense against harsh conditions.<\/p>\n

The field experiment, conducted over a full growing season (November to June), compared several treatments, including a control group, traditional NPK fertilization, and various applications of seaweed extract (from Ascophyllum nodosum<\/i>) and free amino acids. The most effective treatments were those that combined these biostimulants with or without NPK.<\/p>\n
